I cannot recommend Alpenglow Experiences highly enough. We had a fantastic trip with them in the White Cloud Wilderness. Ryan could not have been a better leader - he was very well prepared, knowledgeable and a real pleasure to spend time with. He took all the stress and worry out of going on a 5 day backpacking trip, so we could simply enjoy the incredibly beautiful places he showed us.

Alpenglow made it easy to get out into the beautiful wilderness that we wanted to experience and enjoy. We trusted them to choose the place and they wowed us: dramatic peaks and mountain lakes and grand vistas. They (Ryan) did all the grunt work, the planning and carrying, the cooking and cleaning, so we could walk and enjoy, or sit in camp chairs with tea or coffee at the edge of our gorgeous lake campsite. Ryan was a great host, companionable when we wanted to engage and sensitive to when we wanted quiet time alone. Our trip was such a raging success that we are already planning for next year!

This was an experience I’ll reflect on for years to come. I can’t thank Ryan enough for guiding me through such a meaningful and unforgettable journey. His tours are named after the “Alpenglow”—that magical light that bathes the mountains just after the sun has set. Perhaps we need a new word for the glow we carry within us after experiencing something this extraordinary.
